Outdoor poetry lesson

As summer approaches, the days grow hotter and the sun shines brighter. Concentrating in class becomes more and more challenging. However, students and teachers at BG Tanzenberg are in a particularly fortunate situation: surrounded by a breathtaking natural landscape, the school offers an environment that makes learning feel lighter and more inspiring.

Taking advantage of this unique setting, we transferred our English lesson outdoors, focusing on poetry, more specifically, nature poetry. Instead of sitting inside, students stepped out into the green and engaged with their surroundings using all their senses. They listened to the sounds of birds and wind, felt the warmth of the sun, and breathed in the fresh air.

In doing so, they not only explored the creative possibilities of language but also reflected on the privilege of learning in such a peaceful and intact environment.

The result is a collection of short, but strong poems that capture the beauty of their surroundings and the experience of being present in the moment.
